No SEAI grant is available for replacing a gas boiler
Straight talk: there is no government grant for a like-for-like gas boiler replacement. Grants target insulation, controls and renewables. A new condensing boiler still pays back through lower gas use, and heating controls fitted at the same time are grant-eligible.
Who qualifies: Not applicable
Up to €800 for one door, or up to €1,600 where two doors are replaced.
Replacing old, draughty external doors with certified energy-efficient doors. Usually claimed alongside windows or insulation rather than on its own.
Who qualifies: Homeowner of a property built and occupied before 2011, with an MPRN, using an SEAI-registered contractor. Doors must be replaced with certified energy-efficient doors.
Door grant values and the number of doors covered change periodically — confirm the current figure on the SEAI page before committing.
Household income under €37,500 may get 100% of the cost of works, up to €40,000. Above €37,500 the percentage tapers down to 30%. Households over €75,000 are not eligible. If the house is less than 12 months old, the maximum is €20,000.
Funds work that makes a home suitable for a person with a disability: accessible showers and downstairs toilet facilities, access ramps, stairlifts, wheelchair access and other adaptations deemed necessary. Radiant carries out the plumbing side of this work — accessible bathrooms and sanitary facilities. Amounts are set nationally in the 2024 Regulations, but each council runs its own process, waiting list, quote requirements and Occupational Therapist arrangements, so apply through your own local authority.
Who qualifies: Owner-occupiers (and some tenants) where a person in the household has a disability and the home needs adapting.
Not an SEAI scheme: no MPRN, BER, build-year rule or SEAI-registered contractor requirement. Official sources currently disagree on some figures — the maximum above follows the 2024 Regulations. Always confirm with your council before committing to work.
Up to 100% of the cost of works, max €8,000. Gross household income must not exceed €37,500. Faster track than the full Housing Adaptation Grant.
Covers basic works to address a mobility problem: level-access showers, grab rails, stairlifts, ramps and other basic mobility works. Radiant installs level-access showers under this scheme. If the works are more extensive, or the household fails this means test, the Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability is the route instead. Amounts are national; each council runs its own process, waiting list and quote requirements.
Who qualifies: Households with a mobility problem, inside the €37,500 gross household income limit.

Up to 100% of the cost of works, max €10,700, for gross household incomes up to €37,500. Lower band applicants: €3,210. Income assessed on the registered property owner and spouse in the previous tax year.
Homeowners aged 66 or over can apply to their local council for up to €10,700 toward essential repairs, including the provision or repair of heating and improvements to water supply and sanitary facilities. In Bray and North Wicklow this is administered by Wicklow County Council. The grant is means-tested and works must not begin before approval is granted. The scheme also covers essential repairs, roof repairs, rewiring, and window and door replacement. Heating provision and repair, water supply and sanitary facilities are three of Radiant's core services and are named in the scheme.
Who qualifies: Homeowners aged 66 or over. Occasionally granted under 66 in cases of hardship.

Up to €70,000 for a vacant property, or up to €84,000 where the property is confirmed derelict.
A council-run grant for bringing a long-term vacant or derelict home back into use. Heating, plumbing and rewiring works usually form part of the eligible refurbishment cost.
Who qualifies: The property must have been vacant for two years or more and built before 2008. You must own it (or be buying it) and live in it as your principal private residence, or rent it out. One grant per applicant per property.
This is a council scheme, not SEAI. Amounts and vacancy rules change — always confirm with your council before committing to work.
Low-cost loans from €5,000 to €75,000 over up to 10 years, at rates well below standard unsecured lending.
A state-backed low-cost loan designed to cover the part of an energy upgrade that grants do not. It is borrowed money, not free money — it is never added to your grant total.
Who qualifies: Homeowners carrying out SEAI grant-supported home energy upgrades. Lending is subject to the individual lender's credit assessment.
