Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026. These terms apply to every quote, booking and job carried out by Radiant Heating & Plumbing.
Who these terms are with
These terms form the contract between you (the customer) and Radiant Heating & Plumbing, 17 The Courtyard, Brookwood, Bray, Co. Wicklow, an RGI registered gas installation and plumbing business operating in North Wicklow and South Dublin. Placing a booking, accepting a quote, or allowing us to start work means you accept these terms.
Browsing this website also means you accept the website terms of use set out below. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published on this page at the time you book is the version that applies to your job.
Definitions
- Quote — a fixed written price for a defined scope of work.
- Estimate — an indicative figure given before survey, which may change.
- Works — the goods, materials and labour described in the accepted quote.
- Variation — any change to the scope agreed after work has started.
Quotes
Quotes are given in writing after we've seen the job, and are valid for 30 days. Prices assume normal access and no hidden defects. If we find something that changes the scope once work starts, we stop and agree the extra cost with you before continuing.
Figures given over the phone or by message before a survey are estimates only and are not binding. Quotes exclude anything not expressly listed, such as building work, tiling, plastering, electrical upgrades, asbestos removal or making good decorative finishes. Prices may be revised if material costs change materially between quotation and acceptance, in which case we will tell you and you may cancel without charge.
Bookings and access
We'll agree a date and arrival window with you. You'll need to provide safe access to the property, the boiler, water supply and electrical isolation. If we can't get access on an agreed date a call-out charge may apply.
Arrival times are estimates and can be affected by earlier emergency call-outs and traffic. You are responsible for confirming that you own the property or have the owner's permission for the works, for obtaining any consent from a landlord, management company or planning authority, and for providing parking where a permit is needed. Please move valuables and fragile items from the work area before we arrive.
Health, safety and hazardous materials
We may pause or stop work where conditions are unsafe, including live electrical faults, suspected asbestos, structural risk, hoarding, pest infestation, or abusive behaviour towards our team. Where asbestos or another hazardous material is suspected, work stops until it is assessed and, if needed, removed by a licensed specialist at your cost. Children and pets should be kept clear of the work area.
Subcontractors and suppliers
We may use vetted subcontractors or specialist trades for parts of a job. We remain responsible to you for the works we contract to carry out. Where a specific appliance or part is unavailable or discontinued we may supply an equivalent of the same or better specification, and will tell you before doing so.
Variations and additional work
Any change to the agreed scope is a variation and is chargeable. Where possible we agree variations in writing before proceeding; where an urgent safety issue is found we will make the situation safe and confirm the cost with you as soon as practicable.
Gas work and certification
All gas work is carried out by an RGI registered installer and certified on completion. We will not leave an unsafe appliance connected — if an appliance is found to be unsafe it will be made safe or capped in line with RGI requirements, regardless of the original job.
Payment
Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion. Larger installations may require a deposit toward materials, set out in the quote. Certificates and warranty registration are issued once the invoice is settled.
Invoices unpaid after 14 days may attract interest and reasonable recovery costs under the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations, where those regulations apply. Goods and materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full.
Payment is not conditional on any grant, insurance claim, mortgage drawdown or third-party payment being received by you. Deposits toward specially ordered materials are non-refundable once those materials have been ordered. We do not accept withholding of payment for snagging items that we have offered to attend to.
Emergency and out-of-hours call-outs
Emergency and out-of-hours attendance is charged at a call-out rate quoted to you before we travel. The call-out covers attendance and diagnosis; parts and any follow-on repair are quoted separately. Where a fault can only be made safe rather than repaired on the visit, the call-out remains payable.
Workmanship and warranty
Our workmanship is guaranteed. Appliances and parts carry the manufacturer's own warranty, which normally requires annual servicing to stay valid. Warranty does not cover damage caused by system neglect, third-party work, or pre-existing pipework we did not install and were not asked to replace.
Warranty claims should be reported to us first so we have the opportunity to inspect and remedy. Warranty is void where a third party has worked on the installation, where the system has been modified, run with incorrect water treatment or pressure, or where required annual servicing has not been carried out and evidenced. Warranty covers repair or replacement of our work only and does not extend to consequential costs.
Grants (SEAI and local authority)
Grant amounts and eligibility are set by SEAI and local authorities, not by us, and can change at any time. The grant information and checker on this site are general guidance only. We do not administer, approve or pay grants and we cannot guarantee eligibility, approval, timing or the final amount paid. Our invoice is payable in full whether or not a grant is approved. Full detail is set out in our Grants Policy & Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Cancellation
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a booking. Materials ordered specifically for your job may be chargeable if cancelled after ordering.
Your right to cancel (consumers)
Where a contract is agreed away from our premises — in your home, by phone, or online — you have a statutory right under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. To cancel, email Gerard@radiantheatingandplumbing.com or ring 087 212 0814 within that period.
If you ask us in writing to start work during the 14-day period and then cancel, you remain liable for the value of the work already carried out and any materials specifically ordered. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which entitles you to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Existing systems and pre-existing defects
Older systems can develop faults once drained, re-pressurised or worked on. We take reasonable care, but we are not responsible for pre-existing corrosion, blocked or failing radiators, hidden pipework, asbestos, or leaks that emerge in parts of the system we were not engaged to replace. Where we identify such a risk before starting, we will tell you.
Liability and insurance
We hold public liability insurance and are fully insured for the work we carry out. Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the work performed or the amount recoverable under our insurance, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as loss of income, loss of use, or damage caused by delays outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, supplier or manufacturer shortages, utility outages, illness, or restricted access to the property. We will contact you and reschedule as soon as we can.
Complaints
If something isn't right, contact us first at Gerard@radiantheatingandplumbing.com or 087 212 0814. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 working days and resolve them within 30 days. Gas safety concerns can also be raised with the Register of Gas Installers of Ireland (RGII), and consumer disputes with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie).
Website content
Content on this site, including the grant checker, is provided for general guidance only and does not amount to professional advice for your specific property. Prices, grant values and availability may change without notice. The site's text, images and branding remain our property and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from viruses, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on site content or from any inability to access the site. You agree not to misuse the site, submit false information, attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape content at scale, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only and we are not responsible for their content.
Photographs of completed work shown on this site are our own unless credited otherwise. Where a job photo identifies a property, we obtain the customer's permission first. If you would like a photo of your property removed, email Gerard@radiantheatingandplumbing.com and we will remove it promptly.
Enquiries submitted through this site
Submitting the quote form or grant checker is an enquiry, not a booking. No contract exists until we confirm a booking or you accept a written quote. Automated or indicative figures shown on screen are not offers. Please do not send emergency reports through the form — for a leak, a gas smell or no heat, ring 087 212 0814. If you smell gas, ring the Gas Networks Ireland emergency line on 1800 20 50 50 immediately.
Data protection
We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy, both of which form part of these terms.
Assignment, waiver and entire agreement
You may not transfer your contract with us to another person without our written consent. If we do not enforce a term immediately, that is not a waiver of our right to do so later. The accepted quote together with these terms and the policies referred to in them forms the entire agreement between us and replaces any earlier discussion or representation.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. Nothing in these terms removes your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where the law gives you that right.
